2) News Feature - Indonesian capsule of hopes expected to make dreams come true by Andi Abdussalam
Reporter:

Jakarta  (ANTARA News) - Indonesian children are dreaming of making the country an influential nation in the world with superior human resources and economy to serve as the global barometer in the coming seven decades.

These dreams are among the seven-point wishes they have placed into a time capsule that will be opened by the next generation in 2085. The dreams are summed up from the aspirations of children across the 34 provinces of the country.

"Later, in 2085, it will be opened by our next generation to see if the seven big dreams would have been realized by then? Hence, this is not a common monument, but it is a monument of our dreams," President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated when inaugurating the Time Capsule Monument in Merauke in the eastern province of Papua on Friday (Nov 16).

Three years ago, namely on Dec 26, 2015, the president also planted a time capsule (Time Capsule 2085) containing the seven wishes that reflected the aspirations of the people in the country`s 34 provinces at the Hapsana Sai Square, Marauke, Papua.

During the inauguration on Friday (Nov 2018), Jokowi mentioned that the Time Capsule Monument in Merauke was very futuristic, similar to the Avengers headquarters, so that children are expected to have the same spirit and passion of the Avengers.

"I am also following the social media to know the discussion about the Time Capsule Monument, which is like the Avengers headquarters and which is also very futuristic," Jokowi noted after the inauguration of the Time Capsule Monument as quoted by Presidential Spokesman Bey Machmudin.

The Indonesian children have permanently placed the seven dreams in the Indonesia Dream Time Capsule Monument in Merauke on the eastern tip of Indonesia. The president explained that the children`s seven dreams were included in the capsule, which was very futuristic, in order to make it readable and to last for decades.

"So, hopefully, in the year 2085, it will be opened by our successors to see whether the seven big dreams could be achieved. So, this is not merely the ordinary monument. This is our common monument," the president remarked in response.

The monument, continued the president, had the same spirit and passion as that of the Avengers, who not just had a mere big dream. "(They) perform a great action to protect the people and the weak. Through this monument, we not only place our dreams as a great nation but we will also work hard, work together, and strive to realize that great dream," the president noted.

The Time Capsule Monument is a monument built on a 2.5 hectare land with doors representing the native tribes of Merauke, namely Malind, Muyu, Mandobo, Mappi, and Auyu, as the guards of the monument. Inside the monument, there are reliefs about the journey of Indonesia, state ideology Pancasila, and the culture of Papua.

Netizens hailed the launch of the monument and immediately gave various comments on social media. While praising the monument, whose form resembles The Avengers headquarters, they also expressed hope that the dreams would come true.

The launch was immediately welcomed by #Kapsul Harapan Indonesia (capsule of Indonesia`s hopes) hashtag that soon became a trending topic. "Euphoria to welcome Time Capsule Monument that keeps Indonesian Dreams from 2018 through 2085 from the west to the east. Yesterday attended #ASEAN Summit and this morning already in Papua.#01 Indonesia Maju (Indonesia Progress).#Kapsul Harapan Indonesia (Capsule of Indonesian Hopes)," Netizen Heni Unique stated through her @heniunique account.

"This monument keeps the messages and hopes of Indonesian children for the next 70 years. It is scheduled to be opened in 2085. #KapsulHarapanIndonesia," according to the comment by "The Power of Emak-emak" on its @Power Emak account.

The children`s seven-point dreams, which were summed up from children across the country`s 34 provinces, were written and placed in the time capsule.

The seven dreams are: 1) Indonesia`s human resources will have intelligence higher than that of other nations in the world; 2) the Indonesian community will uphold and respect pluralism, culture, religion, and ethics; 3) Indonesia will become the center of education, technology, and world civilization; 4) the community and government officials will shun corruption; 5) Infrastructure will be developed evenly across Indonesia; 6) Indonesia will become a self-reliant and influential country in the Asia-Pacific region; 7) and Indonesia will become the barometer of economic growth in the world.

Such dreams were also previously placed in the Time Capsule 2085 inaugurated by the president in Dec 2015.

Before being placed in the capsule, the aspirations had been gathered from across the country by a capsule expedition team. Its expedition team began their journey from "point zero" located in Weh Island in Aceh on the western tip of the country and traveled across 187 cities and 34 provinces before arriving in Merauke in the easternmost Province of Papua on Dec 21. It will remain there until Indonesia`s 140th anniversary on Aug 17, 2085, or 70 years from 2015.

3) Inalum ready to wrap up deal with Freeport Indonesia

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State-owned mining holding company PT Inalum said it has succeeded in raising enough fund to acquire a majority 51 percent stake in PT Freeport Indonesia ending years of brain racking negotiations over control of one of the world largest copper and gold mines in Papua.

Indonesia`s state-owned miner Inalum hopes to wrap up the financial closure of a US$3.85 transaction for majority control of the local unit of U.S. mining giant Freeport McMoRan Inc .

The Indonesian government and Freeport have reached an agreement that Inalum will control a 51.23 percent stake in PT Freeport Indonesia, ending more than nine years of negotiations over control of Grasberg, the world`s second-biggest copper mine in Papua.

The Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) was signed in September, 2018 by Inalum CEO Budi Gunadi, Freeport McMoran Inc. CEO Richard Adkerson, and Rio Tinto Indonesia. Three ministers who witnessed the SPA signing were Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Ignasius Jonan, SOE Minister Rini Soemarno, and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.

Inalum said it has raised US$4 billion (around Rp54.8 trillion) from the sales of government global bond to finance the deal .

The government has said the deal would be closed after Inalum made the payment.

"We have been ready for the final transaction with Freeport," head of Corporate Communication and Government Relations of PT Inalum, Rendy Witoelar told Antara news agency here on Friday.

Rendy said the bond fund would be used to finance the transaction and the rest to refinance debts.

The next steps are to settle documents related to mining business license (IUPK) with the energy and mineral resources Ministry and taxation and investment guarantee with the finance ministry.

"The global bond was the first issued by Inalum. There was no assets given as security. That indicated confidence of investors in Inalum and Indonesian economy," Rendy said.

BNP Paribas, Citi, and MUFG were the Bank Joint Global Coordinators (JGC) for the bond and BNP Paribas, CIMB, Citi, Maybank, MUFG, SMBC Nikko, and Standard Chartered as Joint Book Runner (JBR).

The bond is given the rating of Baa2 by Moody`s and BBB by Fitch Ratings.

The signing of Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) followed the head of agreement (HoA) inked by Inalum and Freeport McMoRan Inc on July 7, 2018. At that time, all parties agreed on the total divestment value of Freeport Indonesia worth US$3.85 billion.

The figure divided from US$3.5 billion of Rio Tinto`s participating interest (PI) at 40 percent shares in Freeport Indonesia and US$350 million for the 5.6 percent stake of Indocopper Investama, which was owned by Freeport McMoran Inc.
