Penangkapan Bucthar Tabuni (ketua KNPB 2008)

Jayapura-VB, Ketua Umum KNPB sekaligus Ketua Parlemen Nasional West Papua [PNWP] , Buchtar Tabuni ditangkap bersama kedua rekannya, Jufri Wandikbo dan Assa Alua oleh aparat kepolisian Polda Papua tepat pukul 15.30 (07/06) siang ini di Lingkaran Abepuara, West Papua.

Buchtar dkk ditangkap setelahs menghadiri acara tatap muka yang difasilitasi DPRP tadi siang guna mengklarifikasi berbagai peristiwa penembakan yang ditujukan kepada KNPB, dimana dalam acara yang dihadiri toko masyarakat, agama dan adat tersebut namun tidak dihadiri oleh Pangdam dan Kapolda.

Buchtar ditangkap saat dalam perjalanan mengendarai mobil Avansa bersama kedua rekannya. Tiba-tiba dihentikan dan ditangkap secara paksa.

Berita yang di lasir sekretariat KNPB bahwa selama ini tidak ada surat panggilan dari kepolisian terhadap Bucthar tabuni, Penangkapan ini terjadi tanpa prosedur hukum yang berlaku, dimana pihak Polda Papua melakukan penangkapan tanpa surat penangkapan 3 kali. 

Penangkapan itu juga terjadi 7 jam sebelumnya (pukul 07.00 pagi)  4 anggota Polda Papua menembak mati Teyu Tabuni (17), salah satu warga Papua di Yapis dan sehari sebelumnya Aparat TNI/Polri Menembak 13 Orang di Wamena

Aksi Demo Damai yang di Pimpin KNPB

Sebelumnya, pihak Polda Papua melarang demo damai yang dipimpin KNPB yang mengakibatkan 3 orang korban penembakan aparat kepolisian Indonesia pada 4 Juni lalu. Penangkapan ini dilakukan sebagai upaya polisi mengkambing hitamkan gerakan damai KNPB selama ini, agar polisi terhindar dari tuduhan ketidakmampuannya mengungkap pelaku kekerasan di Papua.

Sampai saat ini, Polda masih diringkus dalam ruang tahanan Polda Papua. KNPB telah menyeruhkan agar mobilisasi nasional secara besar-besaran di seluruh tanah Papua.
