Bits & pieces from Sydney

The United Nations Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons is the first global treaty to ban nuclear weapons and all activities related to them. It makes nuclear weapons illegal alongside landmines, cluster munitions, chemical and biological weapons. It entered into force on the  22nd of January 2021.

Celebration in Martin Place Sydney

The treaty is the result of decades of campaigning by groups such as The Australian Nuclear Free Alliance (ANFA),  a mainly indigenous group, the work by the late Yami Lester and the Nuclear the Nuclear Free and Independent Pacific (NFIP)
