New Caledonia Votes
In accordance with the 1998 Noumea Accord, New Caledonia will vote in a historic referendum on self-determination, on 4 November 2018 – the latest phase in a long struggle for independence in response to French colonial rule.

Special Guest—Daniel Goa
Daniel Goa is a New Caledonian politician. He was elected to New Caledo- nia’s Northern Provincial Assembly in 2002 and to the Congress of New Cal- edonia in 2009. In 2012, he was elected as President of Union Calédonienne (UC), the political party founded in 1953 that is the largest member of the independence coalition Front de Libération Nationale Ka- nak et Socialiste (FLNKS).
