More arrests at KNPB rally today
The security forces cracked down on the peaceful KNPB rally today , called to show support for West Papua's application to be a full member of the MSG.
A number of demonstrators were arrested and others beaten including a 15 year old who was hit in the head with a rifle butt.
Items such as KNPB banners and flags were also confiscated.
Those arrested have been taken to the Jayapura police .
Joe Collins of AWPA said "the exact number arrested at this stage is unclear but it's time for Canberra to stop pretending there is not a problem in West Papua and start raising concerns about the human rights abuses committed by the Indonesian security forces with Jakarta".

WEST PAPUA GO FULL MEMBERSHIP MSG

The people of Papua today took to the streets and voiced their full support for West Papua (ULMWP) to enter as a full participant in the MSG.
The MSG is the umbrella for black people, those who have gathered there have called on West Papua to join it. And now that effort is being carried out by the great MSG leaders. PAPUA PEOPLE have now united and are fighting to quickly enter as full MSG participants.
In the course of today's peaceful demonstration, there were several protesters who were arrested and taken to the police station. For this reason, all parties are requested to monitor and advocate in the course of the interrogation process that is being carried out by the Republic of Indonesia Police.
