JAKARTA, Feb. 21 — Gunmen launched attacks in two separate places in the Indonesian province of Papua on Thursday morning.
One of the attacks was launched against the military post in Tingginambut. And the other was against soldiers carrying logistic in Sinak.
Altogether five soldiers were killed and two civilian were seriously injured, spokesman of the Indonesian military Iskandar Sitompul told Xinhua by phone.

2) Soldier Dies After Armed Group Attacks Military Post in Papua
One soldier was killed and another was injured on Thursday morning after an unidentified group opened fire at a military post in Puncak Jaya Papua.
More than five people attacked the post, firing shots from around 300 meters away, at 9:30 a.m, according to Suarapembaruan.com.
Lieut. Col. Jo Sembiring, the Puncak Jaya military chief, confirmed the attack but did not provide any further details.
“Yes, there was shooting, and we are chasing them,” Jo said.
First Private Wahyu Wibowo was shot dead in Thursday morning's attack while First Lieut. Reza's hand was wounded.
Wahyu's remains were evacuated to Jayapura before his body was taken to Jakarta.
Soldiers at the post exchanged gunfire with the attackers and local police officers also helped attack the assailants.
Meanwhile, an armed group attacked a group of soldiers who were heading to Mulia, Puncak Jaya at the same time. One soldier, identified as Mustofa, was shot.
