At least 50 West Papuan people reportedly arrested for PIF demonstrations

BREAKING NEWS FROM OCCUPIED WEST PAPUA – AROUND 50 PEOPLE ARRESTED TODAY
We have just received urgent reports from the The United Liberation Movement for West Papua – ULMWP that today in West Papua around 50 people were arrested as part of a peaceful demonstration, calling on the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat to bring West Papua to the United Nations.
According to the ULMWP, around 50 people were arrested at 08:12 West Papua time in Sentani as they prepared to travel towards a central gathering point. All were captured by the joint Indonesian Security Forces, made up of around 100 Indonesian Police Officers, 30 Intelligence Personnel and 7 Detachment 88 – “Anti Terror Special Forces” (trained by Australia).
